Cookie policy

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored in your browser when you visit a site. They are used to remember settings, improve functionality and – with your consent – for marketing and advertising.

Which cookies do we use?

We split cookies into two categories:

1. Necessary cookies

These cookies are required for the site to function correctly and cannot be turned off. They store no information that can identify you personally.

  • anstella-cookie-consent – stores your cookie choice (consent or rejection) in the browser's localStorage. It has no expiry date and remains until you delete it manually or withdraw your consent.

2. Marketing cookies (require consent)

These cookies are set only if you click "Accept all" in our cookie banner. They are used to show relevant ads and measure the effect of advertising.

  • Google AdSense – when you consent we load a script from Google (pagead2.googlesyndication.com) that can set cookies to:
    • Personalise ads based on your visits to this and other sites
    • Measure ad impressions and clicks
    • Prevent repeated impressions of the same ad

Google's cookies may include for example __gads, __gpi, IDE, NID and other identifiers used in its ad network. These cookies are handled entirely by Google under Google's own cookie policy.

How consent controls AdSense loading

We use a consent-based approach for all advertising cookies:

  1. Before consent: No AdSense scripts or ad-related cookies are loaded. You see no personalised ads.
  2. After consent: When you click "Accept all" we save your choice in localStorage and load the AdSense script dynamically. Only then can Google set its cookies and serve ads.
  3. If declined: If you choose "Only necessary" we save that choice and AdSense is never loaded during this browser session.

How to withdraw your consent

You can change your choice at any time by clicking "Cookie settings" at the bottom of the page. This reopens the cookie banner so you can accept or decline marketing cookies.

You can also delete cookies directly in your browser:

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Clear browsing data
  • Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage website data → Remove all
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Clear data
